Independent Safe Sport Complaint Process (Nepean Minor Hockey Association)

Independent Safe Sport Complaint Process

Nepean Minor Hockey Association and Hockey Canada stand for safe sport that is free of maltreatment of any kind. We all play a role in creating a healthy culture that fosters safe sport practice and offers athletes, coaches and all members of the sport community strong resources in education and reporting. The presence of maltreatment in sport requires a concerted and systemic effort by a variety of different organizations and governments to come together and identify solutions and clearly define roles and responsibilities.

Nepean Minor Hockey Association and Hockey Canada’s response to all allegations of maltreatment is through Hockey Canada’s Independent Third Party (ITP) complaint mechanism. We encourage all individuals experiencing or witnessing maltreatment (including advocates for other people) to communicate with the ITP. For more information on the ITP, including information for complaint submission, complainants, respondents, as well as policies and processes; please visit https://sportcomplaints.ca or click the logo, below.

FAQs

Players who have participated in Spring tryouts and made a competitive team for the 25-26 season are not required to register with their home association first – instead they can register directly to their respective competitive associations, so long as their primary address remains the same.

New players to HEO, players that have changed addresses, or players that either did not participate in Spring Tryouts or make a competitive team in the spring but are joining a competitive team in fall 2025, will still be required to register with their home association first and then transferred to their competitive.

For registrars, in HCR these player’s primary associations will remain as their respective “home association” would originally have been, and their shared association will remain as their respective competitive association. Financially, HEO will bill the AAA/AA associations for their participant fees based on their team rosters.
