It is with great sadness and tremendous gratitude that we remember NMHA friends and family who have passed.
Hartmut (Hart) Wolf

We are saddened by the news of the passing of one of our long time ice schedulers, Hartmut (Hart) Wolf.
Our thoughts go out to his family during this somber time. The NMHA is so grateful for Hart's contributions to our community and to have had him as part of the Raiders family.
Henry "Hank" Mews

It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Henry "Hank" Mews, who spent his time in Ottawa building a career spanning 50 years with General Motors and as the owner and dealer principal of Myers Automotive Group.
As one of the NMHA's most dedicated sponsors over many, many years, the Nepean Minor Hockey Association would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the Mews family and hope that the happy memories of their loved one, gives them peace and comfort during this challenging time.
Sharon "Sherry" Brush

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Sharon "Sherry" Brush, the mother of a long standing NMHA Board member, Competitive Convenor and coach, Steve Brush. Our hearts go out to Steve and his family during this difficult time.
Sherry enjoyed a successful and fulfilling career as a teacher, expanding young minds in elementary schools in Navan, Ontario, Colchester North in Southern Ontario, Port Latour in Nova Scotia, RCAF Station Uplands and her much loved Hillel Academy in Ottawa for over 30 years.
Troy William Richmyre

Troy is a former NMHA player that fought a courageous battle with cancer. The family is establishing the Troy William Richmyre Healthcare Services Bursary. Every year one St. Mother Teresa High School (Troy's alma mater) student who has been accepted into a program with the intention of pursuing a healthcare career will receive a bursary. This student could have goals to become a doctor, a nurse, a medical device technician, a physical therapist, or a personal support worker. Their specific career aspiration is of no consequence, only their heroic pursuit of one day being someone who could support a patient like Troy.
Our hearts go out to the family and applaud their courage for establishing this bursary to help fund future heroes in memory of their loved one.
Mike Goddard

Our Raiders family is incredibly saddened to share the news of the passing of Mike Goddard. Mike was a dedicated volunteer for the NMHA and Ottawa hockey community at multiple levels through a coaching career spanning decades.
Mike was also a masterful skills and power skating instructor who helped so many kids over the years develop their skills and a love for the game. Mike loved being around the rink particularly the chance to watch his grandkids and pass along a tip or two to the next generation of coaches. He will be greatly missed by the hockey world.
Barbara Thomas

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Barbara Thomas, mother of NMHA President, Helen Tyson.
Barbara lost her courageous journey with cancer on Saturday, September 3rd. During hockey season, Barbara was never happier than when at the rinks cheering on her grandsons, Owen and Dylan Crawford of the NMHA and Connor and Thomas Dunnigan of the West End Hockey League. Both Helen and her late sister Julie Dunnigan volunteered countless hours in both Nepean and West End, a work ethic instilled in them by Barbara who was extremely proud and supportive of her daughters' determination, commitment and accomplishments. We send our collective sympathy to Helen, Owen and Dylan and to the Dunnigan family as they mourn the loss of their much-loved mum and Naina. She will be forever remembered and missed by many.
Dongxun Jia

Our hockey community is saddened by the loss of Dongxun Jia, a dedicated volunteer, friend to many, and beloved hockey dad. Our most sincere condolences to Dongxun's family and friends.
Robert Hayami

It was with profound sadness that we learned of the passing of one of our NMHA family. U9 Assistant Coach, Robert Hayami passed away suddenly on May 25, 2022, due to a tragic accident. We send our deepest sympathies to his son Owen, his wife Kristine, and all those who loved him, during this very difficult time.
Wendy Pejic

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of a beloved member of the NMHA family, Wendy Pejic.
Wendy was a valuable and respected coach and hockey mom and our thoughts are with her husband Fedja, her sons Nolan and Dylan, and her extended family and friends. The NMHA Board of Directors extend our deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved Wendy.
